ESL
At (30) hours per week this ESL program is most often called "Super Intensive". However, the CVIC ESL program is something more than just "Super Intensive". It is a one of a kind carefully tested methodology of teaching you English as a Second Language. It was developed by Kassandra Dycke, your Academic Director, which places you in very good company. Kassandra is a University of British Columbia honours graduate. She has also spent approximately (12) years teaching English as a Second Language programs in Mainland Malaysia, Borneo, South Korea, and Canada.
If you want to experience something more than "Super Intensive" to learn the most English in the shortest time then this is the course in which you should enrol. (You will also have a lot of fun!)
Your Community Volunteer Program (CAP) is optional and included with your English as a Second Language program, if you are studying for three months or more. If you attend the English as a Second Language program for a period less than three months and would like to participate in CAP then be sure to complete the CAP section on your English as a Second Language Program application form. We will do our best to find a volunteer position to suit your needs. However, please understand that short term CAP placements can sometimes be limited.
You may start your English as a Second Language program on the first term day of any month (please see schedule of dates below).
You may register to attend this ESL program for any number of terms (weeks/months) that you wish.
ESL program core components include Intensive ESL, Pronunciation, Conversation, Idioms, Vocabulary, Reading-Writing, Listening, Grammar.
Afternoon expansion classes are chosen by the students from a list of over (26) subjects.
If there is a possibility you will extend your studies in Canada we strongly recommend that you consider applying for a "Study Permit". It is possible to change conditions of a Study Permit from within Canada.
If you cannot start your ESL program on the first term day of the month please advise us and we will try to accommodate your needs. |
